Axle lift systems

VDL Weweler has more than 30 years experience in the development and production of axle lift systems. Our range of patented axle lift systems can be used for lifting air-suspended axles. This results in reduced tyre wear and a reduction in vehicle fuel consumption and maintenance costs.

The Bolt-on® axle lift was developed as a standard option for all VDL Weweler air suspensions, and the current range also covers axle lifts for BPW, Jost and SAF air suspension systems. We have carefully looked at the axle lifts available on the market and have improved the assembly time, as well as specifications such as ground clearance. In addition to the Bolt-On® axle lifts, which are side mounted, VDL Weweler also offers a range of mid lifts, as well as a side mounted rocker and cradle axle lifts.

Our Bolt-On® axle lifts are exceptionally compact and are one of the lightest of their kind. The Bolt-On® axle lift is attached to the hanger bracket, and, thanks to the ingenious design, there is no need to remove the pivot bolt during installation on several types of axle lifts. Our systems are therefore extremely suitable for retrofitting. Most of our axle lifts can be mounted within 2 minutes, without the need of special tools and equipment, and the simple installation process is appreciated by many trailer builders. Our axle lifts have undergone extensive field testing during the development. All axle lifts are end-coated.

VDL Weweler

AL-457 - MBS-HD Range

The Bolt-On® AL-457 is developed for VDL Weweler HD drum and disc brake systems.
The axle lift can be used with single and twin leaf trailing arms up to 13t. axles.
Light weight solution with improved ground clearance.
The hook lift design eliminates the need to remove the pivot bolt, resulting in an assembly time of under 10 minutes.
Extremely suitable for retrofitting.
Easy to fit, with no special need for specific tools or equipment.
Also suitable for twin tire axles due to the air spring offset possibility in the axle lift.
All axle lifts parts are end-coated.

AL-462-III - MBS-HD & MBS-W/F Range

The Bolt-On® AL-462-III is developed for VDL Weweler MBS-W/F and HD drum and disc brake systems.
The axle lift can be used with single and twin leaf trailing arms up to 13t. axles.
Light weight solution with improved ground clearance.
Easy to fit, with no special need for specific tools or equipment.

AL-478-II / AL-484-II - MBS & MBS-W Range

The Bolt-On® AL-478-II & AL-484-II are developed for VDL Weweler MBS® drum and disc brake systems:

The AL-491 Mega Axle Lift is developed for VDL Weweler air suspension systems.
Lightweight alternative for the Mid Lift.Highly suitable for systems that have extreme limited ground clearance.
Suitable for drum and disc brake systems.

Universal

MID-Lift - Axle mounted axle lift

The Mid Lift range is developed for universal under slung air suspension systems.
Available for the following axles:
- AL-138 for Ø127mm axles
- AL-191 for []120mm axles
- AL-193 for Ø146mm axles
- AL-057 for []150mm axles
Highly suitable for systems that have limited ground clearance.
Suitable for drum and disc brake systems.

AL-495 - Rocker axle lift

The universal lightweight Bolt-On® AL-495 “Rocker” axle lift is developed and suited for several different running gear brands.
Specific for low loader applications with disc or drum brakes and small 17.5” tires. Also for (self) steer axles.
Optimal ground clearance on low underslung applications. The axle lift is also suitable for overslung suspensions
The clever patented rocker design places the air spring ingeniously on the inside of the vehicle, protecting it from the tires and potential debris. With the additional advantage that the axle lift is also suitable for nearly all axles under a vehicle.
Suitable for truck applications with the advantage that the lift air spring is located underneath the chassis rail.

SAF-Holland

AL-460M-II - SAF Modul

The Bolt-On® AL-460-II is developed for SAF Modul drum and disc brake systems:
- Air suspension serie M
- Air suspension serie EO
Light weight solution with improved ground clearance.
